December 2005
Happy Holidays from Vocal Chaos! Well, we did it! After the better part of a year, Vocal Chaos finally has five songs recorded and ready for our fans. In fact, some of our tracks are currently playing on your favorite Internet radio stations. If you hear us, please drop us a line to tell us where you heard us and what you thought of the song.

November 2005
In the midst of our recording schedule, Vocal Chaos took some time to honor a very special commitment. Earlier this year, Vocal Chaos donated a free concert to a fundraiser for The American Theatre Company that was auctioned off. This month, the winner collected and Vocal Chaos gave a small and intimate concert for a dinner party in a private home. We were all very happy to be singing in front of a live audience again.

October 2005
We’re back in the studio and we’re totally recharged. After hearing some of the final mixes of our songs, we’re really looking forward to completing this EP. Some scheduling logistics and issues with the song (it’s harder to sing than we thought it was, so it’s taking longer) are putting us a little behind, but we still plan to wrap it up by Christmas.

September 2005
Well we couldn’t let the summer end without one guerilla singing concert. Vocal Chaos wandered the streets of Chicago singing for whatever groups happened to be within earshot of our voices. We hope you were among the fans who got to hear one of our mini, impromptu concerts. If you didn’t, well, you’ll have to wait for 2006, because it’s getting cold and we don’t do guerilla singing in the cold. However, it is a good reason to head back inside (to the studio) to finish up our EP.

August 2005
Roll out the red carpet - the movie stars have arrived! And Vocal Chaos is singing with them, and for them. Our guys spent two days in an undisclosed location in Chicago shooting their first scene, and working with Vince Vaughn! A few weeks later, the guys had the opportunity to serenade Jennifer Aniston while shooting on location near Buckingham Fountain. We can’t wait for the premier (planned for February 2006). Back in the studio, we’ve got another song in the can (that makes 3 so far) and have decided to take a little time away from Chaos to enjoy the summer. See you all soon!

July 2005
Lights, Camera, ACTION! Three of our Chaosonians (members of Vocal Chaos) were selected to be in the upcoming movie, "The Break Up." (See note below from May 2005.) You may have seen Jen and Vince shooting around town, on the beach, at restaurants, etc. Our guys are learning their music for their scenes and will be shooting on location somewhere in Chicago next month. In other news, Vocal Chaos is still working on our latest track in the studio. And believe us, we’re DYING to get back to live performance! We miss you all.

June 2005
This month, Vocal Chaos is heading back into the studio to cut another track for our upcoming CD. We’ve been rehearsing all month and will be recording during the last two weeks of the month. This will be the first time the current membership of Chaos will record together and will be some of our members’ first time in a professional studio. June also marks the return of Jeff Swearingen to full-time, active duty with Chaos, following the birth of his son. Congratulations, Jeff and Susie! Also, be on the lookout next month along Chicago’s lakefront, beaches, parks, summer events, and other popular outdoor locations. You never know where we might pop up!

May 2005
We’re ready for our close-up! Vocal Chaos was asked to audition for a movie being shot this summer in Chicago. The movie is called "The Break-Up" and stars Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston, and is due out in theatres next year. Aniston’s brother in the film is an a cappella fanatic (aren’t we all?), so we auditioned with singers here in Chicago and in L.A. for the part of his group. In the end, the directors chose to pick and choose individual members from individual groups and three of our guys each landed one of the six available slots. They’re looking forward to representing Vocal Chaos in Tinsel Town. More details to follow.

April 2005
OOOO-lay. O-lay o-lay o-lay. OOOO-lay. OOOO-lay. Yes, it’s soccer season again and Major League Soccer team, the Chicago Fire, invited Vocal Chaos to sing the National Anthem for the home opener at Soldier Field. This is the second time that Chaos has sung "The Star Spangled Banner" at Soldier Field, and it won’t be the last. The Fire have already extended an invitation for us to sing again at a date to be determined later this season. And no wonder! The Fire have never been defeated at a game where Vocal Chaos has sung the anthem! Coincidence? We think not. ;) Also of note (no pun intended) we’re happy to welcome back our director, Paul Peterson, who has taken some time away from Chaos to spend time with his wife, eldest daughter, and newborn twins (a boy and a girl)! Congratulations, Paul! And thank you to Melissa for watching all of the kids so he can come sing with us again!

March 2005
Saturday, March 26, we once again competed in the Midwest Harmony Sweepstakes. We're very excited about the strides we've made in the past year, and our set was very well received. We got lots of positive feedback after the show from fans (and a few judges too). For those of you who missed it, we tried something new and incorporated some stage magic into our set, during the song "Magic" by America and the effect was just what we had in mind. It was a great time and we hope to do it again in 2006. (Sweeps next year is March 25 2006, so mark your calendars now!) Also, don't forget to join our mailing list for free reminders that will help you can catch us at future gigs. Just e-mail Tim@vocalchaos.com and you're in!
