The inagural year of AcappellaFest was a success! With a turnout of over 300 devoted a cappella fans, the evening showcased the singing talents of Home Free (Mankato, MN), Almost Recess (Raleigh, NC), elmoTHUMM (Detroit, MI) and yours truly Vocal Chaos. Warsaw, IN - VC had the privledge of closing out the Summer 2007 season of the Friday Evening Performing Arts Series in Warsaw, Indiana. An eclectic crowd of music lovers gathered in an outdoor amphitheatre to enjoy sweet sounds of Chaos in the warm summer air. This month we got to celebrate a bit as our very own Jordan Stoner swapped spit with his new wife in front of many weeping onlookers. We performed You And I for the proud couple during the candle-lighting, then proceeded to join Jordan and Alison up front and sang I'll Give It All. We rocked out the reception a bit afterwards and had a great time. Congrats, Jordan & Alison!

Keep your eyes out for an announcement soon about a BIG gig sometime this fall. We're planning on hosting a joint concert with some really incredible a cappella groups, all in one evening. We'll keep you updated when schedules get finalized.

Most excellent news from the Chaotic front. Although we didn't win the Chicago Regional Harmony Sweepstakes this year, we've finally made some progress, plus a bonus. We placed third this year behind two excellent group (Nightwatch and Home Free). The bonus news is that we won Best Arrangement for If You Could Only See. Now that we've tasted success, you can expect something special from us next year.

We've been the Susan Lucci of the Midwest Sweepstakes, having come in (ahem) fourth for the past 4 years so, this year, we're hoping to be the Martin Scorcese and win an award. Vocal Chaos is going to Harmony Sweepstakes! In this our fourth appearance at the Midwest's premier a cappella event, we're trying some new looks and some new songs with some new members. This year we have 10 members in Chaos, and while they've upped the limit to 8 performers (hooray!) certain family and work obligations are only going to let us field 7 of our guys (aww). Happy New Year from Vocal Chaos! We're working hard on our bid for a fifth year in Harmony Sweepstakes. We've got lots of new music and lots of new guys, so this should be fun! We're also looking at doing some more movie and commercial gigs, so we're looking forward to an exciting year. (By the way, for those of you following the story from last year, we still haven't heard from America's Got Talent and at this point, we're giving up on them.)
